About the event

Grab your groove shoes, round up your crew and dance the blues away with a huge night of soul and funk bangers from Cookin' on 3 Burners featuring the Queen o' Soul, Ms Stella Angelico and 60s & 70s vintage soul, blues and funk hits from DJ Sugar D (Dannii-Elle Goff).

Cookin' on 3 Burners is back in Birregurra!! Last time they were in town, the joint reached boiling point with smokin’ soulstress Stella Angelico.

If you didn't make it last time, seeing Cookin’ On 3 Burners live is like poking your head through a time portal that stretches between the year you were born and the middle of next week. On one hand there are clues to a spiritual home that’s situated somewhere in the back streets of 1966, but on the other is a reinvented soul stew that’s very much a product of the 21st Century.

Shane Murphy from Melbourne's The Daily Review described the CO3B Lab Experiments show as '...slick, taut and punchy...' and '...a must see... it feels like we've been transported back into a mid-60s Stax soul revue, audience sweating it out on the dance floor...' - high praise indeed!

And as an extra treat, top and tailing the show, DJ Sugar D will be setting the dancefloor on fire with vintage 50s & 60s soul and RnB, and 60s & 70s funk. Get jumping and jiving to Motown classics and Northern Soul bangers with Marvin Gaye, Gladys Knights and the Pips, Martha and the Vandellas and more.

This event is part of On the Road Again, a Victorian Government initiative to bring live music back across the state.”
